Construction work progresses at the Receiving Lift Station (RLS) at the Front of Plant (FoP) site. SVCW’s contractor partner, Shea Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV), has completed installation of all of the submersible pumps, piping and other supporting equipment, and is in the process of conducting hydrotesting (water pressure testing) of the manifolds and support piping to test for potential leaks. SPJV also completed installation of doors, access hatches and the electrical equipment within RLS. As the Front of Plant approaches final stages of construction, the project team continues to maintain a high level of coordination between the contractor and the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team.
SPJV is set to complete the construction of the Surge and Flow Splitter (SFS) shaft this month. With the SFS shaft roof now in place, SPJV is working on finishing coating application on the SFS surface as a final step in construction of the shaft. Concurrently, efforts towards a safe and timely systemwide startup of the Front of Plant site are gaining momentum. Initial startup and testing of some of the electrical and process equipment was completed successfully. SVCW and SPJV are also working together to organize training sessions with various equipment vendors to ensure that the O&M crew receive comprehensive operational training prior to full startup of the system.
