Construction work approaches completion at the Front of Plant (FoP) site. SVCW’s contractor partner, Shea Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV) continues installation of stairs on the Receiving Lift Station (RLS) shaft along with miscellaneous architectural improvements. Concurrently, SPJV is set to begin paving and restoration work at the site this month, with the goal to complete the site work by the time the facility is up and running. Additional work at the site includes installation of conduits and other electrical improvements in the yard area.
Efforts towards a safe and timely startup of the Front of Plant facilities continue to make progress. Functional testing of the Headworks, RLS, and SFS are ongoing. The functional tests are performed ahead of facility start up to ensure that all systems are working as expected prior to full start up. With the completion of vendor trainings, SPJV will be conducting automatic system training this month, for SVCW’s Operations and Maintenance (O&M) group. The automatic system training integrates various control strategies with field training to familiarize the O&M staff with operating and controlling the system as a whole.
