Front of Plant July 2023

Construction work at the Front of Plant (FoP) site moves closer to completion. SVCW’s contractor partner, Shea Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV), has reached conclusion of the construction work at the Receiving Lift Station (RLS) as well as the Surge and Flow Splitter (SFS) shaft. Current efforts are focused toward installation of the interconnecting pipeline connection, which will carry wastewater from the FoP facility to existing treatment facilities.

Efforts towards a safe and timely startup of the Front of Plant facilities continue to progress. Functional testing at the Headworks, RLS, and SFS is nearing completion. These tests are intended to ensure that all systems function as per design prior to full startup. Once the functional testing is complete, a 30-day acceptance testing period will commence. This month, SPJV will also be conducting automatic system training for SVCW’s Operations and Maintenance group, which serves the purpose of integrating control strategies with field training to familiarize the O&M staff with operating and controlling the system as a whole.
