SVCW’s contractor partner, Shea Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV), heads towards completion of the Front of Plant (FoP) project. SPJV completed ongoing work on the existing 54″ force main to make it possible to repurpose the existing pipe for SVCW’s future use as a conduit for recycled water piping or similar route for other services. With this, the FoP project has reached substantial completion, which is a contractual milestone. This marks a significant milestone for the RESCU Program, SVCW, SPJV and the entire project team.
SVCW hosted the RESCU Ribbon Cutting event on May 13, 2024, at the FoP site. The Director of the USEPA Office of Wastewater Management, Andrew Sawyer and a representatives of his team traveled from Washington DC to attend, and he joined Alicia Aguirre, SVCW Commission Chair, Justin Mates, Deputy San Mateo County Executive, and Teresa Herrera, Manager of SVCW, in making remarks celebrating the achievement for SVCW and its member agencies. Members of the SVCW Commission, representatives from each SVCW member agency, the County of San Mateo, including members of the Board of Supervisors, and many of SVCW’s partners and staff attended the event.
