Construction work progresses at the Surge and Flow Splitter (SFS) shaft at the Front of Plant (FoP) site. SVCW’s contractor partner, Shea Parsons Joint Venture (SPJV), is set to complete construction of the SFS shaft roof this month. Current work includes setting the final two precast roof sections on the precast roof beams. Additional work includes installation of piping and valves, conduits and instrumentation on the deck, as well as completing coating application on the shaft walls.
At the Receiving Lift Station (RLS), with the complete installation of the six RLS dry submersible pumps, piping and other supporting equipment, SPJV conducted hydrotesting (water testing) of the manifolds and support system piping to test for any potential leaks. SPJV also completed installation of RLS stairs, access hatches and RLS pump electrical cables. As the Front of Plant approaches final stages of construction, SVCW continues high level coordination efforts with the contractor and the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, moving towards a safe and timely systemwide startup. Initial startup and testing of some of the electrical systems has commenced, along with operator training sessions with various equipment vendors.
